Background
The
Scandinavian Life Science Database - is a comprehensive non-profit database containing
Scandinavian companies active in the Life Science area. The Scandinavian
Life Science Database was initiated in 2004 by some of the leading regional
actors in Scandinavia: Business Region Göteborg, Karolinska Institutet, MedCoast
Scandinavia, Medicon Valley Academy, ScanBalt, Stockholm BioRegion, SwedenBIO
and Uppsala BIO. The initiators all saw a need for a joined initiative
when it comes to collecting and presenting company data in Scandinavia. The
Scandinavian Life Science Database was formed as a joint database based on
multiple local and regional databases - now merged together into a common interface.
The website www.scandinavianlifescience.org
was launched in the summer of 2004. The interest for this initiative has exeeded
expectations. Today the running of the database is made possible by the strong
engagement and support from our regional partners and

A large number of regional partners has been affiliated
to the project. The regional partners secure data and has a function as local
contact sites for life science companies.
The Scandinavian Life Science
Database indicates the power of Scandinavian Life Science with over 1000 companies
from Sweden, Denmark and Norway. All companies have a focus on Life Science, either
it will be in biotechnology, medical devices or as service providers. Included
in the database are also supporting companies and service providers. What´s
